I've just picked up a Saber baiting pole for a price I couldn't ignore, but the spoon that came with it doesn't look as if it will be very stable. I've seen someone is doing a 3d printed version, very similar to the Nash with a screw thread. Has anyone used one, are they OK?

As with everything
Use it correctly ie load it up and then slide it into the water then the spoon will last
Load it and then Lift it and it will snap.

Just had another look at the pics, must admit it doesn't look very long but fairly deep. Hopefully it will be sufficient for my needs.

Yeah same here, I'd have preferred a longer spoon. The extra height at the front may be good though to help to stop water entering the spoon when first placing in water and if there's some chop on the water.

Dimensions are on their website. It is just I would have preferred it to be longer as I like to lay rigs out straight. I have made all my own spoons previously, but thought I'd give this a go as my current one is about to die.
Lets see what its like when it turns up. Its probably not that much different in size to the original bushwhacker spoon.

Spoon depth 7.5cm

Mine arrived this morning, first impressions are that I'm quite happy with it. Yes it could be a bit longer, but should be fine for what I want. The hopper can take about 500g of 15mm boilies, which is plenty for me, though I haven't tested it for bouyancy. My fishing with it will centre around one fish at a time over a tight baited patch, rather than trying to hold a group of fish over a heavily baited area. As long as I get my bearings right I should be able to bait up accurately as and when I feel it necessary.

Mine hasn't arrived yet, hopefully being delivered tomorrow. Ok sounds good, I am not a heavy baiter myself, and like you am generally creating tight baited spots. My comment about the spoon length was that I like my rigs to lay out straight rather than curling up.

Any chance you guys could give an update once you have used them, how stable they were in the water and if bouyant enough or not ?

Mine arrived this morning. It is pretty small, but in reality is big enough for my needs as I'm not a heavy baiter. I was planning on giving it a try tomorrow, but weather looks like its going to be pretty sh*t, so may delay until Sunday.

As for buoyancy, the floats look quite small. If more bouyancy is needed it would be an easy fix as I tried a section of 22mm bore x 15mm thick pipe lagging on the floats and it will fit quite nicely.

Tried the spoon out today. Not the best conditions as pretty windy where I am causing lots of chop on the water. In these conditions I'd say the buoyancy isn't great. I'm glad I had some bits of pipe lagging with me to add to the side floats. I'll just mod mine to permanently fit some lagging so it's never an issue.
