So having a discussion with a fishing friend and I told him I'm thinking of trading in my TXI's I can get £150 off the new ones,anyway he reckons the new ones are not that good and this is the reason why they are doing the trade ins so they only have the new ones in circulation eventually.
What are people's thinking on this and has anyone taken up the offer yet obviously you get a new set but are these any good?

3 plus a receiver in working condition is 200 quid off, maybe not worth it

If they are broken or just not working as they should, especially mk1s as they no longer repair them, maybe.

I know other people do repair them but if you don't want the hassle....

I have the TXI plus working fine had them for around 8 years I'm thinking if anything goes wrong I may as well trade them in now rather than having to pay out for new ones and bin the old ones

If the trade in deal was £100 better, I would definitely go for it. As it is, my txi's are in good condition, so I would hope to get a bit more than the £200 offered by delkim, if I sold them on eBay.

Im sure a new set of txi'd could be found for around £450? So I would expect to spend around £200 to upgrade my alarms.

I suppose delkims offer is far less hassle, though. Just send them the txi's along with £300 and receive the new txi'ds.

When i got the offer for my 4 Txi+s and RXPro Plus, i thought that was a good offer, but been hearing mixed reviews about the new Txi-Ds
As previously mentioned, the bargain ain´t that appealing, if you can easily flog em on eBay for a pretty penny. As it is, i´m satisfied with my Txi+s and will continue to use em till they pack up

Think I'm swaying on keeping them as they are working ok and I do look after my stuff to be fair so I'm getting my minutes worth and the new alarms won't put any extra fish on the bank,although at the minute had no carp this year😂😂😂

I sold my set of vintage bullet proof 20yr plus Fox RX Digitals for a set of TXID's just because I fancied a change and that they were smaller / sexier with a few interesting functions . . . do I regret it . . .no because the TXIDs do everything asked of them (the do not disturb muting feature on the remote is particularly useful) so much so that I now own 2x sets with remotes for different set ups and a pair of EVs for river bashing . . .don't believe all the bs about complexity of operation or water proofing issues - those posts are mostly written by the unlucky few or peeps with small attention spans!

I did morn my RX Digis for a weekend and do get emotional when I see a set on the bank but thats only because I'm a soppy nostalgic soul . . .

Sticking with the txi's is probably the sensible option. Delkim must have enough spares to keep these going for many more years.

I've been happy with mine, but I can't say they have been faultless over the years. I think each one has been back to delkim for repair, at some time. I have a forth one that I use as a spare, that plays up during really wet weather.

The major plus is that any faults are sorted by delkim, so quickly and efficiently. Whatever the problem it's not going to cost much more than £30 to repair and it's all done and sorted within a few days. I think it's this customer service that means I will stick with delkim bite alarms.

I should probably stick with my tx's, as they've all been good for the past couple of seasons. It's just hard getting past that desire to have new stuff.

Screams of desperation from Delkim to get you to get the new model....

There's a reason why you see so many of the new alarms up for sale and Delkim have been dropping prices of the new model....

No company drops the price of it's flagship 'best selling' product and offers incentives to get more stock off their inventory list for no reason and they don't deliberately want to reduce profit margins now do they for the benefit of anglers....

If you can get the TXI's serviced now and extend their life you'd be making a great decision.

Perhaps Delkim ****ed up and finaly made an alarm that works in the rain?

Wont be making the money they were skimming the punters for servicing the ***** that got caught in drizzel will they.

for god knows how many years I have owned and used Delkims models up to my 4 current TXIs
( possibly longer than some of you have been born lol )

and fished all over europe in some biblical storms probably racked up miles more hours than most as being single and when I was working had a job that gave me 6 weeks holidays a year plus bank holiday leu days

these were spent fishing 2 to 3 trips a year in France etc
AND NEVER EVER HAVE I HAD A SINGLE PROBLEM WITH A DELKIM ALARM
IMHO
the best alarms ever made and the most adjustable if you have more than 2 brain cells

I've decided to not go ahead with it I can use the money I would have had to put to them to better use,I've booked 4 days on lavender hall Coventry in a few weeks time

Purely out of interest I wonder what Delkim do with all of the traded in alarms.

I think there's 2 reasons for this scheme.
That is to maximise profit by selling direct to anglers so bypassing distributors and tackle shops.
They'll be getting more per unit by giving you £50 back then they sell into the tackle trade.

The other reason is to deplete the market of old kit in favour of new kit so I reckon the stuff they get back is disposed of using the correct procedures.
I really can't see a company like Delkim wanting to put old stuff back into circulation, they are not secondhand tackle dealers. Not when they are onto a money spinner with this scheme.

They drain all the water out of them and sell it to South West water.
