Hi all

My house flooded in January and my shed went 2ft under water.

My Bedchair (jrc stealth) and sleeping bag (trakker big z) got contaminated.

I'm not looking to replace and was looking for recommendations.

I fish all winter so needs to be 5 season.

Would people recommend a sleep system over a separate sleeping bag?

I would mate your in effect carrying one item as the bag would be built in with the bedchair,I had a nash indulgence which I bought off my step daughter who's dad had 2 (long story) and she thought it was just a camping bed.
Anyway had my use out of it untill it broke and now I've got one from the carp auction company that no longer runs and all I do is put my thermo cover on it I got from trakker my chair cost £240 and I'm using right this minute can't go wrong with a sleep system buddy👍👍👍👍

I would never buy another sleep system when they first came out I thought what a great idea but having used one I found it far too restrictive and was glad to get rid of it
I far and away prefer the versatility of a separate bag and cover of my choice

Both my bed and bag are up for renewal this year (both over 15 years old). The bed is knackered, but the bag is still great, just a little restrictive as I've put on a bit of timber over those years!!!
Soo I'm considering the same separates or system dilemma. At the moment I'm on the side of separates. I'd rather not have fleece lined either as it clings, the current bag has removable fleece liners so I've taken them out.
Another consideration is bed dimensions as I tend to do overnighters in a solar undercover brolly system.

So a bed + roomy bag, that's big enough for a big bloke, but not too big for the shelter 🤔

I know that doesn't help the OP's request for recommendations,but Ill keep an eye on this thread for the same!

Agree with gerry, sleep systems are rubbish. Much better with a separate bag then you can choose any bag you want.

I've got both a standard Nash indulgence and the Nash emperor, i just cant get on with the sleep systems, packing the bedchairs away there so much more bulky than the bedchair on their own.

I now using either a small duvet for longer sessions in France or a large camping sleeping bag i bought from Go Outdoors.

I got a Nash ss3 sleep system cheap, but I found it too restrictive for me so I took the sleeping bag off and bought a sim and a tracker 365 bag. Much more comfortable,and user friendly. For me at least.

What Sim do you use?

Having gone from a bedchair plus bag to a sleep system,and back to separates its a no brainer for 0me. Hated my system ,couldn't wait to get shot. But ,they're like rods tbh...what's right for one person isn't necessarily right for another. With regards to SIMS, the Helium.2.0 I think it is from Cotswold Outdoors is a popular choice.

Unsure why this is so popular. Surely the trakker mattress is preferable given it's 62cm wide compared to the 51cm of the helium?

Am I missing something?

I can't remember what it's called, but it's the size of the bedchair and 10cm thick,so does not fold up in the bed even when deflated. Very comfortable though.

It sits nicely inside the mattress part on my solar bed and have never had any issues of it moving.I have had it years and it still works perfectly,the valves on the Trakker ones have a habit of breaking

as others have stated much prefer a seperate bag - ive had both and much more versatilty with seperate bed and bag
