I still find the fully tracked Royal Mail/Parcel Force services to be the most reliable. Just avoid strike periods.

The best for communication I find is DPD. Prob not the cheapest but I like the tracking and communication they offer

I have always saved MONEY booking thru PARCEL HERO

you can book with your favourite company normally a at a saving I like Parcel Force myself
but you have plenty of choice try a quote cost nothing to check

The best for me sending a bivvy & Reels recently has been Post office. Competitive price wise and straight forward to drop off & get tracking info instantly.

Evri - Nightmare to work with on both buying and selling goods.

Royal Mail Tracked, book it online and they either collect or you can drop it off at a Post Office. Advantage with Tracked is that they're scanned at every stage, so performance is monitored and RM prioritise them and Special Delivery over anything else.

Just sorted exactly that on their website. Collecting Monday from my house. First class tracked and signed for under 2kg £5.05p.
