Can anyone point me in the direction of baskets or similar to boil my baits in. Have used deep fat fryers but want to up the amount I can boil at a time. Intend on using 30L Burcos unless someone can tell me a better way?

Thanks

I used to use a large pop up laundry basket. We're getting hard to get hold of in the size I needed but worked perfect may be able to get similar for 30l burcos. If not look at making a wire mesh type basket and put your own handle on

When I was rolling my own I used a mesh waste paper basket in my Burco. Modified it with a couple of pieces of wire, so it would hang from the rim.

Tried lots of different things in my Burco for various particles, and wasn't ever super happy with the results. Washing bags, bins, the lot. The best thing I've found is an upside down colander on the bottom with a brick on top, and just put your particles in loose. Only downside is not retaining hot water.

Problem with Burco's they take so long to get up to heat and if the thermostat is still connected they switch off when boiling, you can disconnect the thermostat to avoid this but I always found a big pot and basket better over a good heat source a big gas burner.

A pop-up laundry basket is what you want just check dimension will fit in your Burco.

I agree with the burco's i have a 20L one with a 3kw element it takes around 40 mins to reach a boil and then to keep rolling boil i had to move element position.

Then with a basket of bait i didn't think the 3kw element was enough with 20L of water, i found a 6L chip fryer far better with a 2.5kw heater.

Metal waste bin. Drill holes into it. Make a handle from a couple of wire coat hangers.
I dont use a burco but a mate of mine is making me one from a boiler flue cover for my large pan.

I bought a "Mesh Waste Bin" from Tesco's a few months back, to use as a waste bin though but it would be ideal for bait making.

They are out of stock in Tesco's now, but if you search for "Mesh bin" you will find plenty of places that do them. ie: - https://www.argos.co.uk/sd/waste-paper-bin/

But the only issue I find with doing large amounts of bait is that when you immerse it in the boiling water, it cools it off and takes ages for it to heat up again. Its Ok for particles, but not good for boilies so I always do boilies in small amounts and can have up to two pans going at once with normal "Chip pan mesh baskets.
