Need to be aware of anti angling people reading the forum and loading up with ammo

I thought that as well,not just tonight ,but a lot of traffic on that one thread for the last few days ,over a week for sure,maybe more..
We all need to be awake to the woke..!
There's four on looking right now,couple of they are banned ,two reading the mentioned thread ..location says USA....(..Q ANON ,ANTIS..)..

I've seen a few looking at the brollys and rats thread aswell.
Keep an eye on your brollies chaps/ladies....
I THINK new members get directed to certain posts at first (Karlos could confirm that) and with banned members I'm not sure you can see what they are looking at anyway? As they are banned they would see nothing.
Currently we have 119 "guests" viewing the forum, you have no idea what they are looking at.
Personally I wouldn't worry about it.

I think although members may be banned, it stops posting rather than stops them totally reading the forum, although I'm not sure on that, can't remember, lol

if members are posting nothing but facts, i say, let people read them mate.
Half the non anglers haven't got a dam clue what damage otters do, so its good that proper country folk (anglers included) post real facts
i will add, we cant and wont have anti otter posts, it does us no good

Agree that anti otter posting won't do anyone any favours. Same goes for conspiracy theories and paranoia, doesn't show us in a good (sane) light.
However they proliferated they are here to stay now. It's not the otters fault, they've been here since the ice age and to anyone but anglers are an impressive apex predator to be revered.
The issue is that we have f***ed up our rivers to an extent that the natural fish stocks can no longer support such a voracious hunter.
If we want to fatten up an actual invasive species (carp) in still waters to a point where they are easy pickings for an otter then it's our responsibility to fence and protect them.
Restoring the health and implementing a stocking programme in rivers and fencing lakes is the only sensible solution. Praising roadkill helps nobody.

I very much agree.
Carp anglers can be a pretty hypocritical bunch at times when it comes to nature and the environment. As you say, it's the otter that is doing what's 'natural,' not the carp angler / fishery owner. We need to remember this.
And the continued mess when it comes to rivers AND beaches with pollution and mismanagement of waste is a disgrace.

They don't have to try to hard do they , Danny Fairbrass advocating along with others the dropping of leads will come back and bite the sport, all for greed.
If you stood on the bank and chucked in 12oz of lead you'd be breaking the law and be prosecuted.

yep, and there's always plenty of fools to follow.
I still use leads given to me by my father, some of those were my grandfathers, my conscience is clear.
I doubt I could afford 12oz of korda leads.

Even the BBC have ignored the otter problem at times. A number of rare breed birds at Pensthorpe Nature Reserve were wiped out by otters.
I've seen otters kill swans, geese, coots and various ducks.
Problem is many places can't be fenced.
A 700 acre nature reserve?
A wildlife common land with a lake?
Lakes connected to rivers or streams with a natural inlet?
Or even a 230acre estate park.
As anglers we have created a situation where we have overstocked lakes with carp, as people, thanks to water authorities, have rivers that are filthy, full of sewage and unable to support the proper species that should be in there. Politicians are not our friends, the Conservatives as a minimum, are in the pockets of private companies.
The 'Town greenies' as I call them, are controlling the country, yet they live miles away from the actual country. The genuine country livers, workers and environmental lovers are being given no control over the actual issues that matter.
The Angling in Oxford thread showed how many town centres are being managed by those who actually aren't affected by the decisions they make, the country is exactly the same.
We also have tackle brands who NEED to sell tackle; new models every year of bivvies, reels, alarms, toiletry bags, who need to sell you lead after lead to replace the ones you littered, sorry ejected on the take into the lake.
