Anyone seeing it?
Is it just the Left trying to drag everyone to their level?
Anyone seeing the nail bars closing? Are the EE'S closing them car wash outlets? Are takeaways closing their doors?
Seeing plenty of houses with their Christmas lights?
Crisis my arse, interest rates still lower than 95, looks like the Left and the WOKE folk just can't cope.
It's an example of the Left trying to destabilise the country, what we see today is nothing different than most have seen in their lifetime.
Remember people like Mal don't like u earning more than people like Mal 🤣
Anyone got any proof?

Yes I saw that, the Welsh apparently so poor they're eating dog food. Always thought that was normal for them.

Mortgages going up, fuel prices very high, food prices going up along with everything else bar wages dso logic would say those that were on the bread line must be struggling and those that had a little spare each month are probably looking at cutting back. Personally I know a tackle shop owner, a fish and chip shop owner and an Indian restaurant owner and all day costs have risen dramatically recently and customers are spending less but you would have to be blind not to have noticed the rise in prices.

Not really, sat in the boozer and my mates were saying something similar to the post below about a lot of people getting various projects done, new drives, kitchens etc
Without doubt food has rocketed, in part probably a bit of profiteering from the supermarkets.
They all said they hadn't noticed a drop off in their businesses, I think its coming though.

Given how long it takes to get a decent tradesman to come and do a job, could be that there's work going on for jobs that were priced up ages ago. I got £4k worth of roof work quoted in Feb by my preferred roofer and it's still not been done; I'd expect that quote would be higher if it was being provided today.
If you're in a fairly secure position then it might be easy to to say "it doesn't seem that bad" but if you're on the breadline, it's another story. Food up, energy up, mortgages / rent up, fuel up....this all invariably leads to a reduction in disposable income and if you didn't have much in the first place, then it starts forcing people to choose between essentials, which should never have to happen in a country like this.

Things that were a treat or a luxury 20 years ago aren't anymore people just expect them these days. Netflix, Disney +, Amazon TV etc etc, I know people paying a 100 notes a month for all this and multiroom etc, they must be mad.

**** me
A run before I even baited up
Obsessed much?
Just wondering, when you dream about me, am I wearing the gimp suit or are you?
How many threads are you going to start with some juvenile comments about 'the left' or 'woke'?
Stuff costs more. Inflation is rising higher than wages. Its not rocket science is it?

Yep a decade of low interest rates have lead folk into a false security. Those of us that have had mortgages for more than 20 years / paid them off accepted around 6% was the normal rate and I remember the pain in the 90s.
If it gets really bad folk can go interest only for a few years ?
Builders where I live have plenty / too much work and folk where I live are still getting work done - so the prices can't all be that bad ?
Yes there are folk struggling for various reasons but I'm not sure if it's actually any worse ?
The shopping centres are still busy, post xmas retail figures will be interesting.
I still think interest rates are affordable.

You cant compare interest rates from the 90's being higher than they are now because even an interest rate of 12% in the 90's is still not as bad as paying 5% now solely because houses were so cheap back then. Average house price in the uk in 1991 was 57k average house price now is 300k. So all this rubbish people talk about how high interest rates were 30 years is a load of rubbish.
