Any tips to getting a rod apart? I've tried ice and also tried heat but it's stuck solid.

Two people, each with a hand either side of the joint and twist. Sticky rubber gloves and those rubber sheets for opening jars are a big help.
I bought a two piece Trakker landing net that was stuck. I got it apart using the above method. Unfortunately it was the fixed side that came free. I suspect the previous owner had glued it together to make it one piece. His glue was obviously stronger than Trakker's.

Pull on each section and carefully tap it at the same time

Tap with something softish like a rubber mallet? I don't mind being fairly brutal with it as I think the rod has had it to be honest, I've never had it this bad before

It used to happen to a set of parallel butt rods i used to have but only when it was warm therefore i was able to dip the rod past the joint in the lake for few minutes then grip the rod each side of joint and twist while pulling apart.
I know its not warm now just trying to give what always worked for me but as already mentioned further down the rod had to be twisted at the same time it was being eased apart

Three people - one with the tip section firmly gripped (washing up gloves help), the second with the butt section firmly gripped and the third on the spigot/ join slowly rotating both sections through 360/ in circles. The guys on either end just keep a pull on. Sounds mental but do a bit of match fishing and seen so many poles unstuck this way before

Try this.
Get the rod behind your legs, grip with both hands at the joint, one on tip and one on butt section off course.
Then bring your hands to your knees and push apart with your legs, maybe twist it.
If that doesn't help, try a heat gun on low

pity you are far away, I would gladly part it for you, I have a knack for this sort of thing I'm told, it's said if I tried I could straighten a drill bit!

Same as this.
I used to gt one rod stuck loads when it had been in the sun all day. No matter how much yanking and twisting I couldn't get it apart.
Tried the behind the knee trick and it works a treat :-)

It was my wife that tells me I can get the stuck lids off anything.

Put some nose sweat on the join before you put the rods together.
