Hi , im going to get a snugpak torrent but unsure of the sizing on them , im normally an x large but the sasquatch i had was a med and fitted ok , most snugpak sizing seems bigger than normal , just wondered how the torrent sized up ?

i think the sizing varies on them, i ordered a medium online when it came it was miles to small far smaller than other medium coats i have so i sent it back
I then went to a shop near me that stocks them got a medium and large out the medium was bigger than the previous one i had looked at but still a bit small ended up with the large which fits me well, im only a 40" chest

I've got the large Torrent and in comparison to my sleeka jacket it is a bit smaller. Without going and trying one on, my experience tells me that you may need to go xxl...🤷♂️

The sasquatch was made larger to go over the sleeka if required. I'm a large and my sleeeka and sasquatch fit me fine. Maybe I was just lucky.

Snugpak sizing
it really is a joke. I once tried on every jacket that Johnson Ross had in what should be my size (I'm 6'1", 44 chest, 34 waist) and no two were the same! Sleeves were different lengths and chest size varied as well. Absolute dog sh1t. Didn't bother in the end.

From experience I would order a Torrent in your normal size if you expect to wear just a regular layer or two under it. If you think you will wear bulky layers under it then perhaps think about a size up.
Regarding the sizing, I've not had any issues and always order my regular size with no issues on jackets, pile shirts and salopettes. All great kit👍

I've got a torrent, not for fishing but dog walking etc, I'm normally a large, @ 5ft 10” 12.5stone 34” waist and 44” chest and it's snug, for walking it's great as it's warm and a good fit, wearing light layers under works well.
If I was using it for fishing just sitting on the bank I'd have got an XL so I could wear a fleece underneath, it's definitely water proof and very comfortable, good zips and stitching has all been sound.

Similarly I bought the small snugpak salopettes and although waist and leg length were true to size they were really tight on the upper thigh and butt.
