Before they start to deteriorate and you wouldn't use them? I've found some I froze a year ago and they have been in there since then! (Bought Fresh).

during freezing, moisture is lost, just chuck them in your spot, the lake water will soon re hydrate them

Ina sealed bag the moisture is still there though.

Thsts why I tell people to let them finish thawing proper in the bag before drying them, get those solubles back in!

true, but just chuck em in...nothing wrong with them at all

only thing is, they will be lighter in weight due to the water depletion and can break up in a throwing stick as they can go "crumby" as they have dried out due to freezer burn.

If one is bothered, sling a bit of decent salmon oil to coat them

if you want, mix a bit of flavour in the salmon oil pre adding to the baits, dont add it when baits are frozen though

Found 5kg of mainline proactive pineapple in the bottom of my freezer when i moved house. Got to have been in there for at least 10 years. Caught loads on then, including 2 30's in a morning.

Adding salmon oil to frozen baits. Pre thaw...

Otherwise you get a oily, sloppy slush to bait up with.
Not that I've done this

Know somebody who did similar with Solar clubs

Surprised you caught on the pro active pineapple though, they must have been starving

Possibly the attraction remains

That's the reason I bag my bait into 1kg bags before freezing, even though it turns up fresh in 5kg bags. You then know each and every kilo has the right amount of liquids in it as long as you let them thaw in the bag. If you don't do this, you end up with half a bag of ice crystals, which is obviously the liquids from the entire 5kg batch.
