Im fishing a new to me day ticket lake untill i can get on a club water.
Its been years since ive fiahed any lakes let alone day tickets and im struggling a little with the rules nad how to approach it.
Its VERY weedy and my preferd swim on the lake map shows depths of average 9ft, lowest being 5 ft deepest 13. Imagen my sirprise when i found a 4x3 area if 2ft! I was so confused i checked my marker wasnt tabgled some how 4 times. Anyway called the bailffe and he came down ( strange ) said he couldnt speak on phine as he was in shop but basically there is a big boulder in the swim and i was on top of it. Sure enough as you come off it it goes 2ft then right to 7ft. Its not sat on gravel either its full on rocks. Its producing lots of fish but my issue is ive had 14 takes and landed only 12, 2 have cut me off and 3 compleatly wrapped me round it solid but freed them self. Ive cut back about 13 ft of shredded line each fish (goin to habe no line left!.
So the easy thing to do would be a big snag leader, BUT no leaders of ANY kind are alowed on the lake,
Ive tried to up my tubing game using a full length of tungsten tubing on the rods but still its even cut through that ! I had to buy a pole elastic threader just to get it on and even then it wasnt easy!
Not onkt is it costing a fortune in tungsten tubing fish safety is clerly a priority here.
Whats the most abrasent resistant main line out there right now with the ability to castca small pva solid bad 120? Im already hating casting that distance without a shock leader! Feels like im at the limit of a crack off as it is but ive always used shock leaders so i dont really know how far you can push 15lb line with say 4oz. Maybe ill go try thst in a feild actually

Sounds like a need for a tapered line, if you can't use leaders or braid.

Korda Subline double tapered mainline has a 12m section of .50 40lb mono at each end with 12 lb mainline section. Casts well, sinks well and knots beautifully and won't break the bank at £10 a spool. Or the low stretch long chuck tapered at £11. This has a lighter 30lb end section but you can choose 15lb mainline section. Given the rules, not many options.

12 landed 5 lost and I would be thinking perhaps it's not safe to fish there.
Maybe several metres closer to you but if you up the line strength/ abrasion resistance and one does wrap the line around the rock then worse case you could be into a tethering situation.

Not safe to fish there, simply don't fish it as you are putting the fish at risk of getting tethered. A stronger more abrasion resistant line will cause more risk for the fish, do not fish at all costs at risk to the fish.
If fish safety was a priority, you would have stopped fishing there already.
