Just seen that fennes fisheries are closing very soon, anyone have info as to why or who will be taking it over if anyone?

From what I have just seen, the lease to the current people who run the lake isn't being extended.
Knowing the land owner, there's some £££ somewhere playing a part in that.
Not my cup of tea tbh but it wouldn't surprise me if it becomes a members only or a "syndicate" (same thing) on there.

Yea that was what I was also thinking but I haven't a clue who owns it just read the Chapman's have had the lease for 20+ years and thought it was a bit harsh just booting em off but it happens, last year happened to honeypots

If I remember correctly it is owned by the people who own the Fennes Stately Home, or Hall.
I'm not 100% on that, as although I knew the people who ran the fishery I did a few agency shifts Catering at weddings at the Hall.
It was also a shooting venue.
Shame if it is closing down as it seems to have been nicely developed as a good fishery.

If there is a shed built at every swim. I don't see why there is any difference between sleeping in a shed with an open door or a bivvy with an open door. You're going to have to run the same distance to get to the rod. Just sleep in more comfort with more room to store your ****. We need to understand life has moved on from 1965. It won't suit all lakes but the ones designed to accommodate it I don't see why there is a problem. The rest of the lake can be designed to accommodate wildlife and privacy. Times change we have to move on.

Those sort of waters with sheds or what ever they want to call them, are frankly repulsive. It's not fishing, it's glorified camping. Noddies love it though... anything that makes life easy for them to sit there staring at rods catching flip all. I'll take a big overgrown pit thanks. As to Fennes, I live near it and only fished there a few times, but not for carp - it's a day ticket runs water, serves a purpose I suppose. But the perch in there, something else...

It serves a purpose. Not somewhere I would go, unless maybe I was taking my girlfriend. More of a holiday venue than a serious venue looking for a pb. Fishing is not the same for everyone. There needs to be room for all mindsets. Don't be blinkered into thinking that what suits you suits everyone.

I doubt it will close down, owner is money driven. The lodges was a flippant comment really, just I would not be surprised if it happens, although I doubt they would get many on there.
