Maybe 30ish years ago I met a guy called Billy, I knew nothing about him as a person, but I didn't want to due to the fact he was quite heavily tattooed. I found him cheap tacky and intimidating. Personality shone through in the end and we became and still are great friends.
I'm absolutely astounded that a moto gp rider won't be promoted to the premier class due to the way he looks (tattooed wise)
Despite my initial prejudice all those years ago (which I now deeply regret) is tattoo prejudice really a thing these days??

Yep
I had a deputy head teacher suggest that I was a poor role model to students because I have tattoos
At the same time our students were en masse being shown a video of David Beckham as an example of how hard work and perseverance comes with rewards of success...

The reason why he got slated Jon, they are all ****ing spelt wrong, not a good roll model for the kids when they are doing English

I quiet often surprise people with mine, im a professional and quite heavily tattooed but don't really have any on display in work.
Have has quite a few gasps and questions over the years when people have seen them (not longer wear white shirts ) But generally they are met with a few questions and then standard service resumes.
I honestly think its generational, my parents were so against it they threatened me with kicking me out when i was a kid. Luckily i only have a few small ones then, now 25 years later i have got more, but generally bigger and more arty/ unique and my parents love them.

Think I'm quite rare, been a biker all my life and carper but don't have a single tattoo, have have piercing 's but all removed now.

Think of them as counter culture . I'm 54 and none of our same age friends family etc have one.
But their kids have started already.
And judging by what I see on TV you won't find many under 35 that don't have some.
