Can anyone suggest a storage method for chods where I won't pay carp tax like the child safe I've used corks from a wine bottle before but want to store more at a time ?

Now you are kicking yourself for discarding the plastic spools from the last time you renewed your line, especially if it was Gardner Hydro Tuff as that came in it's own plastic case.
Oh...and that foam pipe lagging you saw in a skip the other week...that would have come in handy for something...
And those cheap NGT type rig boxes with all the map pins that you gave away...
Bet if you even had a good ratch about in the garage or under the sink cupboard there is a tub or plastic pot that an empty line spool would have fitted into. Maybe just the cut of bottom of a washing up liquid bottle to slip over the spool.
Why I bet if you put all the above together in a sensible manner you would have your own chod rig storage pot...and it would have cost the sum total of SFA.

Except ,get some cocktail sticks,push them through ,all the way til both ends stickout..,use as many as needed,trim of the pointy bits..this gives lagging backbone,plus a place to hook yr rigs on or around..
You now have a compact,minimal rig storage thing..
Cost ,virtually zero..

I use EVA rig winders that you use for sea fishing, they come in different colours and two different sizes. I also wrap zigs, and leaders around them as well. You can buy them singular at 50p each if you only need 1 or 2 from Glasgow angling or maybe your local tackle shop..

Good shout...
(That's what gave me the idea for the cocktail stick and foam )
I only keep one rig at a time on mine or make em up according to the situation ..

Unlikely in my opinion, if there are good luck finding them, the Loch is over 22 miles long and 5 miles wide in places and extremely deep.

Even cheaper, smaller etc- a clear resealable packet and a bread bag sealer (wire loop thing) to keep the tension against hook to swivel or loop (if you want tension on) or place hook in loop for C shaped bend.
