OH MY GOD this stuff is doing my head in, the weave is far too loose so even when you get a splicing needle in the correct place, the end of the needle just randomly pops out the side of the weave, it's almost impossible to splice.
This is the 65lb version - anyone else got this stuff??

Yep I've used it without any problems as per post 2 get the fox easy splice needle makes it so easy to splice

I use a lower breaking strain and the TA splicing needle
Sounds like youre having the same battle as I did threading tubing at the weekend 😡😡😡

I've got this and tbh, you might complain about splicing but it's a hell of a a lot easier than some other leaders to splice.
Stick with it and patience pays off.

Went from a long term leadcore user to fluro and then lead free. Like you mention, spliced ESP leadcore LOTs of times, a doddle, needles last for years. Tried to educate myself a while back and bought some lead free, broke 2 needles in the first two attempts, crapola

I used another brand and ESP needles. Sounds to me we need specific needles for lead free?
I didn't use the Gardner stuff because I think it was somebody on here that said it washes out, not sure if this is correct?
Also, out of interest what needle are you using with it?

This might help. This is amazing stuff, really heavy, really supple and silky. I use this all the time now in situations where I would have used leadcore in the past.
The secret is not to treat it like leadcore which has the stiffness of the lead wire to keep it straight off the needle. If you try to work camflex horizontally it will fall down at a right angle off the needle which can then poke through the braid. If you let Camflex hang down vertically and work it that way it is a doddle to splice. I think it is fantastic stuff. No need to use leadcore ever again. Honestly. Just give it a try.

I've tried loads over the years and the Gardner one offers everything at a decent price lasts long and decent discolour. Yes PB,Solar, Nash, Fox, ESP also produce great leaders. There's plenty of choice
