Hi all

Done some searching but couldn't find any threads on this.

As titled, I'm fortunate enough to be able to work lakeside but need to keep my laptop charged.

It's a 2019 MacBook Pro and I'd need probably 3 charges over 2 days.

Can someone please point me in the direction of the best way to do this please?

Not necessarily fussed on cost.

So your looking for a power bank just pick the one with the largest capacity - though do look at the independent reviews lots of rubbish ones.

Lots on Amazon etc

I think the 2019 MacBook Pro has thunderbolt 3 (which is USB-C) that you would plug into the power bank - so look for one which has USB-C

Okay thanks.

Have you got experience with specific ones? All well and good looking for the largest but didn't know if a standard power bank would do the job or if I'd be better off with a car or leisure battery etc.

It really pay depends how long your are actually going to be using your MacBook and how though from what your describing I'd be looking at getting a couple or more.

Forget car or leisure too big and bulky . Power banks are small and fairly cheap.

which macbook is it? they all have different battery sizes, you also need to check the powerpac can fast charge if you plan to use it whilst charging as otherwise the macbook being an extremely powerful device will drain battery faster than it can recharge it.

My macbook pro has a 9000 mah battery, its the 2019 16 inch version.

I'd go for the Ridgemonkey 77850 MAH

Its not the cheapest but it has a 60w out put, anything under 30w output isnt going to cut the mustard with a macbook

Something like a Jackery Portable Power Station would fit the bill. More substantial than a standard power bank, but if you want to be sure that you're going to keep the MBP up and running over several days then I think it's warranted.

You can't just use any old power bank with a standard USB to USB C cable , it has to have a powerful enough current output. I have a 26000 Anker and it won't charge a laptop. If I need to I use a lesuire battery, but understand you wouldn't want to carry 20kg around just for that purpose!

It's a 2019 MacBook Pro which I think is around 7000mah.

Ridgemonkey looks great, I had considered it but didn't know if carp tax could be avoided - but even comparing it to the Jackeroo it seems to be a bigger battery.
