I've a 12'6” Torrix TE with a broken tip section, it's surplus to my requirements but I've been thinking of making a landing net handle from it. As anyone done such a thing? Any rod builders able to give me any pointers yeah or nay?
I've built and repaired rods and am resonantly proficient in all things manufacturing wise etc
Thinking maybe doing it as a reverse taper? I have 2 Nash pursuits and 3 heads so I'd be looking at a custom head from the likes of Jamie at Custom Angling Supplies to match, shrink handle and bullet end cap.
Comparing diameter and flex to the Nash handles, slightly smaller in diameter and a bit more flex.... But I'm not one for lifting the net once a fish is over the net more of a slacken line and let fish sink/slide my back type!!

Yes...I have done it ..only thing is I got Tom at Cotswold rods to do it at my spec,it turned out fantastic..

The top six inches are removable ,spigoted ,double over spigots,for strength..ie,I catch a nice fish..l then remove top six inches of pole ,net is still set up,fully in shape ,its done to stop whacking on trees and tackle ,especially during the night..

I get asked all the time who designed it,I designed it Tom made it..not sure which blank it came from it's a bit like a perdurable blank like a CFx ,although it's not..

Have a word with Kev Clayton. Top top bloke and used to work for Harrison so reckon there's nothing he doesn't know about Torrix blanks and what you can or can't do with them.
