Can anyone recommend a resettable fuse for a electric outboard. 50 amp ideally.

I bought one of these for my Bison as they recommended it to not kill the motor under too much current draw. I never got round to fitting it and have managed noddying about trying to cut through thick weed beds rather than lift and row without any meltdowns.

I'm not gong to say you don't need one, but I'm not going to bother trying to find or fit it

It's worth the bother , £12 against whatever you pay these days for a 55lb thrust motor . As batteries drain down you can get a surge that will destroy the motor. It's one of those things with boats that can happen and probably will , not today but one day and usually at the most inconvenient moment.

Ive used it a few times over winter without, but as spring and summer comes around Id rather have one due to weed growth etc.

Better safe than ruin a £180 motor

I've never used one of these on any of my motors but would do so if i could understand how to fit it! Can anyone can give advice on how to actually fit it? I'm a complete idiot when it comes to electronics so any advice / diagram in simple (very simple) idiot proof terms would be really appreciated!

It just goes inline on the +ve cable. In the same way a fuse in a standard 3 pin plug does in your home.
