Who can list in the correct order,the Daiwa reels used for carp fishing ,who can do it?
Who knows the varieties or history ..of Daiwas,..?
For a bad example...the Baboon bottoms,..what came after,and before,I had Emcasts which were rubbish..lol,so ..what's the listing?

No idea though their was a piece carpology did on what they thought were 10 classics

My clever dicky mate has contacted me saying it began with the Millionmax range,I don't know...surely the longbeams and PMs ranges are early also..

The Emcast Evo's were awful. The Advanced were probably an improvement on what is potentially the worst "big pit" reel they brought out.
I've got the Emblem Black Editions. Proper work horses like their yellow coloured cousins. I believe there are red versions too which were aimed at the sea angling fraternity.

Yes,of all the carp reels I have ever owned,those Emcasts were ever so poor,made in Malaysia, the clicker in the drags broke on all three in a short period of time,but from memory, what finished them for me was when I was playing a nice feral,and it broke,I mean the reel just broke..
But I'm interested in the history of Daiwa carp reels,just like I am about Mitchell reels..

If you have an "In" i'd say try and get in contact with Mr Cundiff or Mr Skoyles for that sort of info.
I know that Daiwa GB used to have their Japanese counterparts come over and consult on rods and reels, so maybe the fellas above will know a lot about the origins of some of the reels.
Just had a look at my 5000x reels, they were made in Thailand, yet far far better than the Emcasts. I may be wrong, but i'm guessing only the reels that hold a higher price tag are made in Japan nowadays.
