Any one use the above for fishing
stumbled across them whilst looking for other clothing
would a lightweight bag and liner be suitable for most british conditions
IE does the liner go inside the lightweight bag or does the lightweight bag go inside the liner then in the medium bag
how do people find the side exit works with the centre exit if put inside the medium bag?
as they look well built etc etc

I can vouch for the old Northern Ireland type patrol packs. They are absolutely fine for fishing and will last the rest of time. You could use a drysack as a liner to keep everything bone dry you could submerge the whole contents and your gear in the drysack would still be bone dry. It's probably a bit over the top for fishing considering we are mostly under some type of shelter. You could just get a pack cover and that will do the job fine. These just slip over the exterior of your rucksack very simple to use and effective.

I use one of them,NI patrol pack,mines a Combat UK clone, my son has the proper one ,it's much better made..
We use em for bushcraft,tracking..and fishing,I got a Dutch bergen cover ,waterproof,from Military 1st,I use it to sit on and a cover for my porterlite with handles off..
I put a couple of molles on mine, put trangia 28,and food,small waterfilter as well.

Quite right..
I used a inner lining on my jungle bag,that's side opening,but,I found I got caught up in the liner when I had a run..

The British military bags are heavy unless your on about a jungle type bag?. I definitely wouldn't recommend doing winter nights in one even with a liner 👍🏼

Your right mate,it's a snugpak jungle bag, I tried it once late Sept with a liner, won't be doing that again..

I have used the US military modular bag for about 5 years and it's brilliant. I use the black bag in the winter and the green one in summer both with the gortex bivi bag. You can combine both bags if it's really cold but I've never needed too. It's lightweight, compact and waterproof

I wouldn't use it in anything other than summer. I'd give it a miss and look elsewhere if you want a bag for year round use.

Have a go on the cyprinius auctions, you might get a bargain on the magmatex sleeping bag, they get great reviews too.

The new modular system that is in use now isn't bad but would be bulky!
Lightweight bag which is then put into heavier for colder conditions. These have been designed pretty much the same way as the American version.
