So NASA have sent a rocket up into space to see if its possible to deflect an asteroid from its path. Obviously to carry out a test like this wont be cheap at all, and the sceptic in me has just started to wonder, is there possibly more to this than meets the eye???

They have the worlds most powerful telescopes, so it's not beyond the realms of possibility that they have seen something of interest.
As I eluded to before, this type of test must cost hundreds of millions of dollars, and I doubt they would get the go ahead for that on a whim

Plenty of others can see what the Yanks see so I doubt it.
Hundreds of millions $ is a drop in the ocean, billions are set aside in the US every new term for space related stuff. Plus if you me and the rest of the world know about it then that means its hardly groundbreaking.
The interesting stuff is the things that they've spent billions on so far but joe public wont find out about for another 20 years, Blackbird and Stealth replacements for instance.

We seem to be bombarded recently with stories of near miss asteroids, almost like we are being drip fed info to desensitise us to any future impacts.
I'm convinced they either know there is one on the way and the Dart is up there practicing for it, or it's something more sinister like using them as weapons.
As regards to black project craft? The stealth fighter project started late 70s early 80s which makes it 40 years old. What next leap have they been working on to make them redundant?

Indeed. The majority of the sightings are ours, people just can't comprehend the technology used and assume they are alien. Whether the tech is back engineered or not is open for debate but they have been paying about with antigravity since the end of the war. They've perfected it and they doing it, they won't own up to it of course, they just let people believe its alien to cover up their project. 👽

I think its due diligence that they are going to see what it takes to knock one off course for future reference.
As said pretty much every major power would probably be able to see one coming at some stage or another. And im sure the American's will want the ability to stop one hitting any of there land or interests.
As for the technology side and what they have up their sleeves - always remember that they spend nearly as much on defence as all the other major superpowers combed per year. And as a rule of thumb most experts would say their classified technology would be around 3 generations in front of what is mainstream now. To put that into perspective look at a 30year old mobile phone compared to one of the latest iphones or Samsungs.

I'd love to think we have that tech but I don't, not for a second. Ultimately the country that first learns to control gravity wins. It opens the door for travelling to any destination at the speed of light with no effect from inertia.
I think this test is just that. To see if the theoretical solution is possible.

For sure. I'm a big fan of all that stuff and would love to believe they have something but imho if they did, and they'd figured out how to use it, China and Russia would no longer exist as we know them.

However I do think the American's do take a stance on not fully showing their hand fully with military technology, particularly in times of relative peace like we have had since the end of cold war.
And that they much prefer to show they are on a par with the other super powers rather then in front of them.
But as you said i don't think they have any "alien technology"

If you're not already familiar with them, Google UAPTF, specifically the UAPTF Report, and AOIMSG. These are US govt bodies established in the last year or so to study some pretty overwhelming evidence that something is flying around that's not man made.
