Hi, I'm looking (and have been looking for some time now) for somewhere relatively quiet to fish - doesn't have to have enormous specimen carp etc just somewhere not too busy and where I can always have a choice of swims...
Anywhere within an hour or so of Gloucester ideally. Having retired recently I find myself with spare time (!) so a syndicate or annual membership preferable to day ticket venues I guess.

I was looking for land sales back along up that way ,found Gardners pool,tween Saul and Frampton, details to be found at lobby's tackle..

There's got to be some syndicates around the Cotswold Water Park. I know of one, but there has to be more. Horcott Lakes have a syndi lake next to the main lake, but I doubt there will be any places. It only has about 10 swims. The clubs around there get really busy, but as you are retired, I'd guess they are a bit quieter mid week.

You will struggle to find anywhere decent without a relatively long waiting list. Horcott and Aspen are 2 names in the waterpark I would suggest looking at, but both likely to have waiting lists but not as long as many of the others. If quiet fishing is what you are after over size of fish take a look at some of the club tickets in the Forest of Dean, not expensive, not busy either but lovely lakes in stunning settings. No massive fish to go at which is probably what puts a lot of people off

Just don't comment about the 6th finger or about being married to their sister and you will be fine 😁. In honesty though the busiest water for carp is Cannop which has some nice fish. Also look at Yorkley Angling Club as they have some nice lakes, 3 islands has nothing big in it but is proper tucked away and a lovely place to fish
