Hi all having just purchased some rods with cork handles I am now after some butt rests. Having just tried the large ESP Gripper ones I find they are still not large enough and damaging the rod handles.
Any advice would be good.
The rods are Free Spirit CTX if that helps.

I don't have cork handles but have full duplon ones and for years now I have used the Fox Butt Rod Rest Head shaped like a "U". All you do is pour boiling water over them and then mould them to fit your handle as tight as you want it and then pour cold water over them. If they get loose, just repeat the process but, I have never had to redo them.
The only mishap I ever had was getting my trouser leg caught on one of them stepping over the rods. it bent the grip well out of shape and I thought it was ruined. But, reshaping it with boiling water sorted it and good as new again.
But, Fox seem to do two different types at almost the same price about £4.43 and both with almost the same name, its the one shaped like a "U" and not the one that comes in two sizes like the ESP ones, small and large.

The larger Nash Trigger Lok (I think that's right) work perfectly with cork handles, and don't cause any damage.

I don't know what the diameter of your cork handles is but I have cork handles on my Harrison Torrix rods and I can certainly recommend the Solar P1 adjustable back rests.

I used JR butt grips for years, but don't think they're available now. Years ago I bought some lookalikes that were rubbish. I've gone on to the rubber Cygnet butt grips, got a couple of sets of the smaller one's for abbreviated handles and going to buy a set of the larger one's for cork handles. I really like them.

Yes they are old stock , have used for 30 odd years , tried others but still find the jr to be the best
