Hi guys New here and 1st post, Might be long but could do with someones help, i have done carp fishing years ago only up to 18lb, im looking to pursue the hobbie again as i Really do miss being on the Bank, i want a 3 rod set up and im starting from scratch i will be doing 48hr sessions 24Hrs the minimum, I dont want to spend a Ton of money but what rods and reels is good enough, Also a nice and comfy hedchair, Bivvy i have already got , net and cradle im not too fussed to be honest,l Ngt or something ? Without breaking the bank I would look at brands like sonik, and wychwood. You can get some really decent gear at good prices.

Having a set budget would help as a guideline. As for bed hair, do you want a system or bedchair & bag? A decent standalone bedchair for not too much money is wychwoods tactical bed, was recommended on here a while back. As for sleeping bags I use a fox ventec, it's absolutely massive but has done me well over the years I wouldn't buy it again though just because of size. Best to wait for others to chime in on that
Rods and reels, have a look on the classified section on here, some good deals on here most of the time. Better to get a decent second hand setup than a new alright setup in my opinion.

Have a butchers on facebook marketplace mate for second hand tackle. You'll get pretty much everything on there, and you'll get more bang for your buck buying second hand.
The other thing to do is have a look on the forum, use the search function. You'll find loads of threads and posts such as "best rods for £200" ur "best budget landing net".
Also, Black Friday coming up so you might drop on a bargain. Most bait companies offer reductions on BF, and some online tackle shops eg TFT.

Another tip - if you sort your ebay search by condition 'used' and 'nearest first' you will often find rods listed as collection only. These tend to attract less bids for obvious reasons.
As others have said - you can get a decent set up second hand for not a lot of money. £300 should get you a decent quality set of rods and reels. £50 should get you a bedchair.
Bite alarms I would be careful buying 'cheap cheap' - some budget alarms that get good reviews are the JRC Radars and the Prologic BAT. Less than £200 for a set of 3 with receiver brand new.

I have just had a look and Great job theres rod set ups for like 300 and stuff i think im guna go down this route probably cheapper and better quality at end of the day, Cheers phil i Have been thinking alot about the Bite alarm situation as me being in Wales as we all Know Rain is always down here.

You'll still need to research what you're buying - be wary of buy it now items
Theres some bargains to be had but also some cr*p gear for sale at high prices.

Where in Wales are you based? Would suggest going into Garry Evans inf Newport area or Cardiff Angling to have a chat and a look. Alternatively go across the border to Bristol Angling Centre or dare I say it Angling Direct Bristol who have a bigger level of stock for you to look at and make an informed decision. 2nd hand can get you bargains but you do have to be careful and make sure you know what you are buying

Im in North wales i am Pal bit of a Way for me to go cardiff to be honest and bristol is also like 3 hours away is it a good place is it mate never been there

Yes mate i really like the look of the sonik rods and hear ok reviews on them, i have been looking to buy a set up if theyr good Gear. If i havent found anything By next week mate that Would be Amazing much appreciated if i havent found a good deal
