Due to my wingman being anti-vax I'm now gonna be going on my autumn french trip on my own. I've decided against the river as I think that I need someone with me for that as I have ended up a good half mile downstream in the middle of the night before!
So.......I really need some form of night light on the bank of the lac in gonna go to. Something not too bright but maybe flashes and has a really good battery life. Any ideas? Anyone got anything that might do the job that they can recommend?

Don't really like night lights but do carry a Ridgemonkey Multi Lite Plus as its compact, usb rechargeable and versatile (can be used as a standard nightlite or a spot or an additional flood for photography)

Thanks. Sorry I should have perhaps worded it all differently. I will be wanting it to get back to the bank safely should I catch at night. Navigational purposes really 👍

How about a head torch on a bank stick. Most have a red setting that should allow you to boat back without having to light up the lake.

to make sure you come back in a STRAIGHT line
you need 2 lights set one light close to the waters edge low down the second about 6 ft back and high then simply line both lights up on your return and you will come straight back

Don't really do bivvy lights, but my lad bought me this https://www.gooutdoors.co.uk/15905137/oex-powerlux-lantern-w-usb-charger-15905137 it's been quite useful. 4 different light levels, solid red light or flashing red and supposedly decent battery life.

When I'm boat fishing using long bank-sticks I have spring clips to fit the closest diameter of my sticks with bike reflectors bolted to them to push on each stick just below the buzzer so when out in the boat with a headtorch on you can pick them up reflecting back at you from a great distance and gives you a straight line to head back with a dropped rod in hand, I then have a reflector on a single stick away from the rod lines to direct me back to the bank if I've got a carp in the net to bring back, you might need to wrap a bit of insulation tape around the stick to ensure the clip is snug also drill the clip for the thread on the reflectors to fit depending on bolt size used.
You then never forget to switch or leave a light on just remember to have a head torch in your pocket when leaving the bank in the boat at night.
