Whats available ? The Korda Kontour in 18 is out of stock everywhere. Ridgemonkey ive used but wasn't impressed with the recent batch I had, I don't know if its changed but it seemed far more wirey than before. Tigerline seems to have vanished. X line in 17 ive used before and was ok but not great. Fox transkarki ? anyone have any good reviews on it ? Or maybe suggest another that I don't know of. For use with a boat so casting isn't an issue.

Any of the Seaguar fluro's are superb I believe that's what the Gardner is just relabelled !!
The PB products ghost dragonfly is by far the beat flurocarbon I've ever used. But im still not convinced its worth the extra money though. Ive gone back to xline because i can afford to just change it regularly when it goes all twisty and annoying.

Ive used both Fox and Gardner, Personally prefer the fox one, but they are both good lines. I have used tiger line and x line too but that was a while ago and i cant really recall why i dont use it any more. I think back when i used those i had smaller reels so was doomed from the start....As personally i feel bigger spools are required for flouro.
A mate of mine is using the berkley stuff and says its really supple off the reels etc, but time will tell on the abrasion resistance. That one is cheaper than the others and ive not tried it personally. I have issues with all flouro lines but they just need a bit more TLC than mono is really what ive come to put up with. I think after a few months on the reels the fox stuff is great but does benifit from a full on stretch out tied to a post or something every session or so bringing it nice and straight again. That PB stuff is just a little bit too expensive for me to try right now especially if i messed up and only managed one reel out of it

First fish I had on it, a bionic double figure mirror charged through the weed, blanket and pondweed and it survived no problems. Next cast on the same rod produced a decent 20lb carp that also met the weedbeds around the lake.

Cheers fellas, I've gone back to what I know in the x line in 17lb. As my mate says if you give it a stretch now and again its perfectly fine. The plusses out weigh the negatives.
