I've done a search on here and there's plenty of info on pellets but I can't find anything on how long a bag of pellets is good for once opened, anyone have the answer?

If you buy them by the sack they will have a BB date due to the ingriedents/oils within, normally the date will be approx 1 year from purchase. If your buyng by the KG where theyve been repackaged more difficult to tell how old they are if not labelled with BB date. If buying in smaller quantities from a shop only buy what you need per session that way if you buy some that may have rancid oils it will only be a limited period of use ie one session. If however you have a sack that the BB date has expired I would only go a month or so past that date then I would bin them because I would lose confindence in them.

Just my opinion.

Difficult to say as you do not know how old they are when you bought them. Just buy from a reputable supplier that has a BB date displayed. Store in a air tight bucket and use by the said date then there is no debate.

Lots of bags of pellets dont have a BB date on them i believe. I occasionally buy sticky baits pellets im pretty sure they dont have a sell by or best before date on em.. Ive often wondered the same thing myself and ive just tried to keep a bit of a turn over going but i do know of people who have used year old pellets and caught.
In answer to your question Id say 3 months once opened but as long as they look and smell ok and have no signs of rot or damp i would simagine they are good for a year or so.
Are you sure?
