Hi,
I'm sure this would of been covered before but I need some advice please.
I have found a spot, 9 wraps out on my braided marker rod, real nice hard drop.
Switch to my fishing rods with mono and at the same wraps am not getting the same drop, it's like I'm the spot isn't even there!
What am I doing wrong?
Cheers

You don't get the same feel with mono because of the stretch in it. The more you do it, the more you'll get to feel your drop, just that it isn't like using braid

Dumb question but have you reeled your float down to the lead before clipping up then also cast from the same spot and hit the clip softly so no spring back?

Watch the tip on your fishing rods, it won't be as marked as your marker but you should be able to see the difference.
Find an area at your pond thats grassy, clip up at say 20 yards and watch the tip then do the same over a hard surface somewhere then note the difference.

Keep practicing, even with mono you should be able to feel a good donk amd o alway watch the rod tip too.
Braid is a different animal altogether, let's you feel every knock.

Have you tried swapping your marker reel with braid onto your fishing rod and trying again?
How big is the spot?
My 1st thought, is your mono low stretch? If not there's a possibility the stretch in normal mono is making you miss it?
