After some quality 48 inch bansticks for fishing the trent. I was looking at the jag prolite excavators but its going to work out at over £220 for 4 banksticks which is crazy even by my standards for an ally bankstick and not quite sure how sturdy they will be as the inner section is only made from 12mm solid carbon rod. Also the longest they do is 35” which is to short. Currently using fox storm poles which are ok. Is there anything better out there?

NGT 36" version of the power drives are decent for the money.Have a pair that I use as storm poles or for deep swampy margins and they've been spot on.

I was using Fox screw point BUT !!!!!!!!! IMO you do not want screw points on the Trent banks !!!
I found the very best solution was Avid Carp Lok Down 48" straight point
they wont slip the unique clamp is rock solid and adjustable for future wear
they are the best storm poles I have ever used and trust me I have used most cheap and expensive options over the years

I was a fan of screw points until I found it was a lot easier with the rocky banks of the Trent where I fish to wiggle straight points in........... And the reason I dont use my 48" Fox power points there

I usually fish a1 pits stretch which is compacted soil so need the screw point really. Had a couple of nice barbel to just under 12lb from there last wk. It was hard going mind all fish came at night, nothing through the day.

To be fair I have a pair of them and they do a great job, and very cheap and easy to get if you do need to replace them
