I'm looking at getting a bait with some garlic in. Purely because the lakes house bait that I will be fishing is squid and garlic. Initially looked at the GNZ but now contemplating using the DGT (Double Garlic and Tuna) as I have always liked tuna in a bait. Anyone any experience with either of these baits? Texture, taste, smell etc

Give them a call and ask them, they can tweak a bait to how you like it. Might even send you a sample.

Has anyone else used these baits before?

Hi. I've only used GNZ. There was a bit of a fad for it on one of my waters a few years ago. It was a good fish catcher if you can put up with the stink. Which I couldn't in the end.

The double garlic are even worse super strong smell I don't really fish enough to comment but the people that were using it were doing well. Unless you are fishing 2 baits in the same spot who knows use what gives you the confidence ABS baits have a good track record 👍

Difficult to explain but this was around the time when air dry bags were more of a thing, unlike now when so many more people use a bucket and put liquids on etc. My baits would be in the bivvy if it was damp or raining in an air dry bag.

I'd get home from fishing and felt like the smell was kind of clinging to me. It's probably horse **** and all in my head but in the end I went back onto the malarkey and mcnut.

I know exactly what you mean. I'd be buying it frozen and air drying it as mentioned in air dry bags. I currently use Baitworks Royale Marine and feel the same about that. I believe I can smell it on me even once I've got home and showered.

I can deal with baits smelling, I guess its part and parcel of our hobby. I just don't really want it tainting my car etc.

I have only heard good reports about it as a fish catcher

I've never had a bad abs bait. Never really had anyone say they have either. I think like all baits some seem to work better on some waters than others. On one of my waters I know guys didn't do spectacularly on the I-bait yet on other waters it caught loads. I wouldn't have an issue using any of their baits.

Never tried the i-bait, but was always tempted. It used to be one of the premium baits but I see that they have dropped the price to £7 a kilo.
