plus must be all the other daiwa features that could be added without compromising the tournie personality BUT...I wouldn't change the line guard system on these , never had line go behind spool, can live with some noise

I can't see it making sense for Daiwa.
They already offer more modern reels with all the options you mention.
They have a niche market pretty much wrapped up with the 5000T. By upgrading them you ditch that market and compete with what you're already producing.

What even if its same reel but with a decent line clip and infinite Anti reverse? Not alot to ask. Nothing beats a tournie build wise why can't 2 be combined. Same body just brought into 21st century.

they did. 3 or 4 years ago they released a tournament qda. mag sealed digi gear etc etc it didn't take off so they dropped it

We've had the Tournament Entoh, Tournament ISO, Tournament Basia etc etc.... I think what the OP means is he wants to keep the original Tourney body.
