If you use the Bait Screw ring swivel, do you prefer plastic or metal, and what's the reason? I'm gonna give them a try, just got a nagging thought that the boilie will come off on the cast 🤔🎣🎣🎣 Thanks

Ive used bait screws pretty exclusively for a few years. Ive nevet had a bait come off a screw. But i have had the plastic screws break on the cast and come off.

If you screw it on properly, then there is no reason why it should come off really. If they didn't keep the boilie attached they wouldn't be used.

I've only ever used plastic screws, and never had a problem with a bait coming off on the cast. I have had a few break though when holding the loop to screw into the boilie. And that's the reason I've just bought some metal ones, but haven't used them yet.

Never had a new bait come off, though if you are using very soft baits / washed out ones I would be more inclined to use a hair stop.

I have used metal screws for years - no issues at all with retaining the boilie. In the early days, before tackle companies sold them, I used small screws intended for use on lures and 100 of them cost a couple of quid. Look what you pay now, it's laughable the mark up tackle companies put on these things. Oh, plastic - nope. Tried a few brands and they either broke or failed to provide the same level of grip. Also found crays can break the plastic screws and be off with your hook bait.

Never had a problem with the metal ones.....

I have used the metal bait screws from Bank Tackle for 3 years now and never had a problem with any hook hold or damage to a fish yet. I like using them for pop ups or 2 buoyant grains of corn. I don't use the plastic bait screws as find most of them quite big.

Use both, but prefer the thin plastic ones with swivel from nash, which would be even better if it had a swivel and a metal spike.

Never had one come off on the cast, but, but, when the bait seemingly is in tact after catching one, the hookbait does come off very easy. Wasted a few hours twice with that, so now i always replace the hookbat after action.

Bank Tackle sell a metal baitscrew on a micro swivel,I use them and they are very good

Not one to jump on a new product but the new Korda ones are easily the best I've used, I was using the bank tackle ones up to now but with the new Korda ones the movement is so much better than the older ones. I just prefer the freedom the bait has

The new Bank Tackle ones on the micro hook swivel are better than the korda ones imo (used both).The BT ones are available in different lengths and being a thin metal spike can be used easier with smaller baits

Don't think I've seen the newer ones bank tackle have brought out them I'll have a look bud thanks for that I just didn't like the amount of movement on the older ones
