Hi, I have some 20lb Korda spod braid and was wandering if I should use a 30lb or 50lb braid leader with it. Will the 50lb create too big a knot and therefore clatter through the rings?. Thanks.

50lb armacord is good. Albright, leaves a tiny knot

I found the knot with armacord in 50lb quite big. I switched to the ESP Shockleader in 35lb. It's also much cheaper and comes in a 25m spool compared to the Korda 20m spool.

I use quicksilver or fox armadillo both 45lb I think. I use a mahin knot and it whistles through the rings.

I use 50lb braid straight through and have never had a crack off fishing to 100 yards

I have another spool with 62lb whiplash on which I use up to around 100 yards. I'm after a setup that will get me 20-30 yards further. Trying to get the most robust leader with no problems going through the rings and possibly causing crack offs. Thanks for all replies.

why dont you use your 62lb whiplash as a leader? ive used it in i think 65lb for many years now

I have 30lb armakord 50lb armakord and I suppose I could use some of the whiplash as it is low diameter for its strength. I've tried putting a 30lb on and the knot is tiny which is good but it does seem pretty thin and I'm worried about crack offs.

I do the same Dave, 65lb whiplash leader.. Some of the other leader materials I've tried are not as supple..
