Does anyone know what Jim's doing these days?
I'm a great admirer of his and used to eagerly await anything he wrote but I was just wondering if he still dabbles.
I did hear that he was unwell a few years back so maybe that's taken it's toll on him.

Me too, met Jim in deepest Kent a few times. Great carp angler, hope he's still ok.

I was wondering exactly the same just last week, hope he is in good health..

Used to really enjoy his articles and thought processes towards angling,one thing I just remembered, was his opinions on reel seats,Jim's rods had the reel seats 'upside down,only to Jim they were the correct way up!!
Never did understand that ..I also remember he only did day sessions, but probably wrong,I miss those old skool writers,especially when Carpworld was the 'Bible'..probably why Ken and BBs Confessions are my favourite writers.

Wasn't it called let us talk in Carpworld ? Jim has a great sense of humour and his articles used to crack me up at times.
His books are great as well Gravel pit carping was my bible for a few years.

I believe Jim is quiet unwell and is unable to fish anymore. Used to love his writings in Carpworld. One of the first anglers to pioneer fishing for carp in the winter.

Yep. By his own admission he was reluctant to fish at night as the darkness unnerved him.

Jim is now an ex-angler ( his words ) due to the effects of Parkinson's and a heart problem which have made it impossible to go fishing. Very sad.
Was also the first thing I would read in Carpworld when he contributed.
