Hi All,

Can anyone remember there was a dedicated line cleaner... I'm sure it was ESP or Gardner that did it?

Or can anyone advise what they use to give the line a good clean? (mono)

Don't think you need a dedicated line cleaner really, wind back through a wet sponge or cloth will
Be enough. Do it twice if your want to be anal.

If you need a more aggressive clean to say remove shine from a section of line then you could use wood ash on your cloth. It's very slightly abrasive.

It was Gardner stuff, and it's utter rubbish. Just makes your line all greasy and nasty.

I think the Gardner product is more aimed at Flouro and helping with it going through the rings on casting.

Yes, mine is a jantex sponge foam scourer with a good squirt of washing up liquid on it.

Put it in the butt ring before every retrieve, especially handy in the spring, when all the scum, flower and fluff is on the surface

You can just use wet wipes or baby wipes
That's what I have used for years to keep fluro clean
