Hi all hoping for some guidance from someone in the know.
I took a punt on a couple of Gardner ATTS alarms. Sold as seen on ebay, the bloke didn't know if they still worked or not, they hadn't had batteries in for a few years, but he only wanted £15 for the two so I took a gamble
Long story short I gave the battery connectors a little clean and some new batteries and the alarms have fired into life. Only issue is on one of them the internal magnet switch does not seem to fully switch off the alarm. If I hold the magnet by the alarm and spin the roller the LED still lights up but only faintly, if I move the magnet away I get the full bright LED again. it seems the internal switch is dodgy.
Does anyone know if the battery on these will still drain if I can stop the roller wheel from turning for example? Or does it require the internal switch to work properly to stop the battery from draining?
They were only cheap and a bit of a project so if I know the battery wind drain I might try to invest in a receiver for them.

Can't answer your question mate, but Gardner do a repair service for ATT alarms, give them a call.

I believe dal henwood does all gardners repairs as he made them in the first place

Thanks both, I was hoping I could fettle these myself but the magnet switch is over and above my technical abilities! I've emails Gardner, hoping they can sell me an entire PCB so I can switch it out myself

I had a 4 rod attx and dongles for my nevs. 2 hit and miss. Had hit serviced by lad gardner recommended cost 75 quid. Waste of money still hit and miss. Wouldn't touch again for free

Reed switches are penny's on eBay not done the Atts but have done quite a few of the older microns the glass usually fractures preventing the switch from moveing correctly , don't worry about putting in the correct position to test just solder in and run the magnet across
