Looking for a set of lightweight waterproofs to go over my clothing when raining. These won't do loads of work. I've already spotted the Vass-Tex ones. Ideally would have a carry bag/stuff sack that I can put them away in and elasticated or pop close Sleeves and Ankles. I don't want to pay silly money either!

peter storm mate,over trousers and a cagoule,packable to the size of a bag of sugar. go outdoors sell them.

I'll second those spent 45 minutes kneeling in a boat trying to unweed a fish in pouring rain in the trousers and was as dry as a bone.

Have a look at the castle clothing foretex flex waterproof jacket and trousers, fortex flex trousers 921 £14.99 & foretex flex 221 2020 jacket £24.99 look on the www.camping and leisure.co.uk website good quality waterproofs for the money

The Vast-Tex waterproofs are only vaguely waterproof. Gore-Tex is always the best option...

I have the vass ones and I got wetter on the inside from not being breathable I'm guessing lol
I prefer the older Nash ones to these

Also have the Peter storm ones

I've gone for the Peter Storm Cagoule. £15 odd on Amazon. I'll see how that fits and then possibly buy the matching trousers.

Dpm army gortex best bar far. Breathable if carp jackets were made of this they would cost 200 a piece. Same with bivvys all this super aqua plastic bond material is not a patch on gortex
