Anyone got any advice on a low stretch decent casting mono that I can use straight through? Leaders and tapered line are banned so I know I'm going to have to up the diameter so will need something decent at casting and preferably low stretch

Personally I'd just use tapered mainline, it's not like they are going to know.

Rules are sometimes made to avoid anybody gaining a perceived advantage. Keep the rules really restrictive and obstructive and everybody is in the same boat. For some of the more suspicious/defensive individuals it can be a safety blanket.
There have been a number of waters described on the forum that have rules that will prevent any form of safe distance casting.

It'll be a ban on low diameter mainline I expect. I've seen this on a couple of real weedy places.

I suppose that could be a sensible rule on a few fisheries. I'm still to see a sensible reason for banning tapered mainline. (tapered leaders are a different question)
