It's only fishing. If you've had enough move on and let everyone else try and make the most of it. The 80s were fine but that was 40 years ago now.

What do you want me to move on from? My syndicate? Fishing in general??? It's a legit post, a comment on the state of the game all ad's taken from FB inside 5 minutes, which one are you?
Every day FB posts about people ripping people off on FB Carp pages, people posting about tackle being stolen. Can you tell me why this branch of the sport attracts societies scum?

I know for a fact that there are tackle thieves on FB pages scouting peoples houses on google earth. You give your address so someone can collect a rod holdall, the fella then gets your address and uses street view and satellites to see where your shed is. It's almost too easy. We chucked one fella off a selling group after being told that he was buying tackle off of smackheads in his area. If I did get my gear nicked, the last thing I would do is post a list of what was nicked, all you will do is end up pushing the stuff further away or further underground.

Never ever sell from your house when selling Fishing tackle ether post or meet somewhere.. Never really bought of these FB selling pages but have sold.. in general it's always been a good experience. But I have had the odd messer, it goes with the territory. But it's not just people selling fishing tackle its everyone. My Mrs used to sell loads on these pages with the same issues. It's the world we live in I'm afraid.

Shame isn't it. Small minority ruining it for everyone else.
A few years ago we decided on a sofa change. We had a fairly large leather corner sofa, it was in good condition. Rather than skip it which would have been a real waste, or have the hassle of trying to get it a charity shop, my wife advertised it for free on Facebook as long as it was collected. A young couple turned up, they gave us a story about how it was exactly what they were looking for. Perfect for their house as they had a young family. Etc. We felt really good that we were helping someone out as we didn't have any money when we bought our first houses years ago.
Two days later it appeared for sale for a few hundred quid on Facebook. These people were just out to profit from others good intentions.

I agree with sentiments of meeting somewhere other than your house, but if you looked at it from a buyers perspective it looks very dodgy

I have sold plenty and always meet people somewhere.Its safer and I always let them check things over before they leave

Had the same only a couple of weeks ago, gave away some blinds we had replaced with new ones, chap turned up and said he had just moved house and needed the blinds for his new house, a week later they appeared on a local for sale site. That's a lot of hassle to go to to make £30, assuming he sold them for what he was asking for them.
Still I suppose it's better than them being dunped.
