I bought an a spec chair last year at the big one Stoneleigh from TFT and the chair is currently unusable as it broke last month due to a bolt cand washers coming lose when I was fishing which I didn't know about until the next time I used it, and also the plastic leg extender comes off the actual leg frame to all the time.
This isn't a cheap chair and I've emailed avid twice and rang avid (Preston innovations) and he didnt really want to offer any help at all saying he hasn't got any of the bits to send out to fix it or offer any alternative, and saying it isn't a manufacturer fault seeing as I've had it 10-11 months! I emailed over a month ago which with no reply meant I had to ring them, seems like they're just trying to take ages to sort something so the chair isn't in warranty anymore?
What are my options, bit annoying as my old JRC chair lasted over ten years and is still going strong, just can't use it because of my back.

First port of call should always be the retailer when you have a problem with a purchase. More often than not I have just had the shop replace faulty kit there and then. I bought an Avid bivvy from Danson and a pegging point eye fell out first use, went into the shop and they gave me a new one without a quibble.
Unfortunately in your case this was TFT, who want to do everything mail order and are notoriously hard to get any sort of response out of.

Thanks, I've got in touch with TFT and they're respond g so hopefully something gets done about it. Do you know how long the avid warranty lasts by any chance? Kind find anything about it on their site.

Probably 12 months
However
By law It all depends on what is deemed a reasonable length of time

In fairness, I had a faulty reel from TFT, and they replaced it no problem. Admittedly, this was right after receipt of the reel, but nevertheless, no issues with them so should be OK hopefully.

Agreed but a chair which cost £100 or over shouldn't break in two separate places within a year regardless.

Exactly
Unless you are “over sized” then it could be deemed a reasonable length of time. Lol
Here's a little light reading
