Big bags like that are a pain in the ass imo, just too big and cumbersome. You'd be better with a 3 rod and then a couple of sleeves for spod and marker rods if needed

I've got the Cotswold Aquarius Savay 5 rod holdall and it's perfect for slinging on a porter as it's flat and i can stuff loads in it.
What's a VFM by the way???

Like ip100 said, large bags are difficult to handle.
I have used many 5 rod holdalls over the years.
Until I took the plunge and now use 5 seperate rod skins and a quiver.
If taking all 5 rods i will clip them to the quiver, but most of the time I only take the 3 fishing rods, strapped to the top of me carp porter.

. . .I've had quivers with/without sleeves (all sleeve variants from fully padded to 3/4 to lightweight nylon) and actually find them much more of a faff . . .for me the best balance of weight / protection / speed is an NXG 3 rod padded sleeve with the 2x utilities 'naked' (but with tip tops) and strapped to the outside. If no utilities required just leave them in the motor . . .

I had Aqua Quiver and have changed to the Korda Compaq 5 rod holdall couple of montsh ago. Very impressed with it, very compact. Have five rods in it (bit tight but doable). Home made baiting pole sections on outside pocket on one side. two landing net poles and landing nets on the outside on the other side, plus distance sticks in small pocket on back. There are two other external pockets but a bit tight to put much in, probably could squeeze in a weigh bar staff and maybe couple of storm poles?. Handles all in the right place, nicely balanced easy to get in and out of the car. Under a £100, very pleased with my purchase
