So I've just got a 13ft spot rod. My fishing rods are 12ft.
Is there any change in wrapping up. So for 25 wraps it will be 25 for all rods or does the 13ft spot rod need a little extra because of where the reel seat is?

If your distance sticks are the standard 12ft apart then the wraps will be the same no matter how long the rod you are using is.

See this is what I thought but my mate says something about where the reel sits and where the tip ends up after casting.

Measure using your fishing rods don't move them for your spod rod or you will be 1 foot further for every wrap

It makes no difference where the tip ends. It's the same amount of line.

Don't move your distance stick just keep them at the same distance 12ft for both rods and your be fine mate, it don't matter what the length of the rod is, it's the same amount of line no matter what bud

As long as you set your sticks to match your fishing rods
and cast consistently I'm sure yourll be fine
Sometimes I share spots and it's surprising how difficult it can be to find them

I sometimes go out in a boat to check
It may make a small difference if worked out to the letter

It does make a difference not massive but it does especially on deeper waters, the swing back changes.
Before i clip up my marker I hold it at the same angle that i hold my main rods at when i hit the clip, i tighten the marker rod to the lead at this angle then do my wrap's. Everything is matched, angle and distance. The only difference on a cast is the stretch in the mono versus the braid but that snaps back once your lead goes through the water.

At 25 wraps you cant cast accurate enough each time for it to matter, and any way you don't want all your spod's to land in exactly the same place.

Technically there will be tiny difference, and that difference will be a function of the distance. You can use pythagorus to calculate the distance of the hypotenuse (the distance from your feet to where you impact the water) using the length of your rod and the number of wraps. But, and it's a big but, the difference will be minuscule. There are other more important variables that will affect the accuracy including line bow, bounce back, wind drift, undertow in the water etc etc.
As others have said, just use the same number of wraps for your 12 or 13 ft rods and focus more on your casting consistency and technique to improve your accuracy.
