I know its lazy but I don't often use particles now, but every so often I wish I had some handy so my best bet would be to keep some shelf live pva friendly stuff in the car or the shed to add to bag mixes ect. and there is loads of places selling it now so a bit of a minefield

Loads of conflicting info on here regarding prepared particle; Monster is great/crap, Carbon is great/crap/the bloke threatened to come round my house! I would suggest that most of the extreme claims are waffle from those with allegiance to the competition.

The only ‘shelf life' I would use is the Dynamite stuff, but this will turn after a while once opened or tinned corn. A bit of salt will allow you to bag. If you can give 20kg of something away for free with an order what kind of quality is it in the first place?

Either go with a top brand like mainline because they have a reputation to keep so they must be upto standard.

Or make some yourself and add a preservative.

If you make it yourself it is much cheaper and more satisfying plus you can make them much better than standard help/maize/tigers.

Try hemp and or maize in a pressure cooker, add double the amount of water to what they weigh so say 5kg of particles equals 10 litres of water, then add 1-2 kg of unrefined salt, 2-4 kg of sugar, maybe some spices and or liquid concentrates eg pineapple, squid, scopex.

Then on top of this add the preservative.

Boil for around 45 minutes (a lot of this is trial and error)

Then after it's all cooked down put it all in an airtight bucket and place it In your car/boot.

The Dynamite stuff is not cheap. However if you after after keeping some in the motor for extended periods just in case then I think it's your best bet. Once opened use it all.

If you don't really use it often but want some just in case then the sealed tubs from Mainline, CC Moore or Dynamite Baits makes sense.
Are you sure?
