making some test batches of a boilie mix I'm playing with next week.
I don't have the luxury of a large bait freezer so I'm leaning towards using liquid preservatives.
looking at the inclusion levels it says 20% of the egg amount to be used.
question is how much weight in egg powder will I need to use to replace the liquid egg content?
would I benefit using egg albumen instead so the bait gets a skin but is softer inside?
thanks in advance.

Just roll it fresh for each trip, its what I do and I'm convinced it helps not having to freeze it

well, the normal ratio is 100g of egg powder to 300mil of water which makes 400mil of liquid egg. Personally I don't use liquid preservative, I just use glycerin instead which is perfect for short term preservation and isn't full of nasty chemicals. 50mil per kilo plus a dosing after the bait is rolled.

I wish I had the room for a bait freezer but I just don't, the preservative is my only option I can see working.
ill try the 25g of egg powder and see if I get the same results.
thanks.

Glycerin is a preservative. I don't freeze the baits once I have made them.

What length of time are glycerin preserved boilies good for, can you get two weeks out of them at room temps?

I found some Atlantic heat in the shed from at least 2 years ago
And it still smells and feels ok

do you have any measurements or weights per egg in a mix?
how long do they baits stay preserved?

Using MPG (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mono-Propylene-Glycol-Pharma-Grade-Better-Than-Food-Grade-99-USP-EP-PURE/113721547326?hash=item1a7a551a3e:g:6uoAAOSwFpVct3Ab) at 20-30% of the liquids and then dry well for 24-48hrs minimum and as long as they are kept cool and dry they will last 6 months with ease. I still prefer freezer baits (its cheaper if nothing else) but have done this for a few trips or when the freezer is full (how did this food get in my bait freezer?
)

thanks for this.
so if I'm using 480ml liquid egg, 10ml salmon oil and 10ml krill hydro for my wets, take away 98ml of egg and replace with MPG. then how much egg powder should I add to replace the missing egg?

Months as long as they don't sweat. You need to keep them in something like paper bags so they don't sweat or they will go off.

To be honest I have never found the need to replace the missing egg with egg powder or anything else.
