Well, it was forecast so its my own fault 
bit hairy out tonight, just started gusting up to just shy of 50mph according to a local weather station. Kind of hoping the bivvy doesn't turn into a kite!
Heard a tree (maybe just a portion of one) falling in the distance, lots of wooded areas the other side of the lake. It kind of fell in three stages, all that was missing was someone shouting Timbeeeerrrr

Thankfully not!
I was out in the thunderstorms the other week, that was sufficient fun for a while!

It's been an interesting night.
On the end of the wind and had all sorts blowing down the lake.
Several trees shedding branches around me so it could be fun seeing if the car is ok when I get back to it.
Normally fish under the brolly but thankfully used the tempest and winter skin this time.

Yep and still out today until lunchtime. Continuous heavy rain yesterday had a 23 , 25 and lost one. Winds started yesterday afternoon and continued through the night had loads of broken branches and twigs hit bivvy but nothing serious. About 2am heard a large crack, so curled up in a ball, and heard a tree behind come crashing down. Checked this morning it was 100 yards away and looked like an old tree, it was in the middle of the wooded area so no damage done except to local area. 🙀

Just got back from a really good session having caught six. The wind definitely got them stirred up and feeding. I made sure I was camped with my back to the wind for safety and I managed a little nervous sleep. It was fun though I did question my sanity while playing a double at two in the morning in just my boxers and wellies while the gale rampaged around me. Non-carp anglers haven't got a clue what we put ourselves through. Mind you, I absolutely love it!

. . .I was out in it - also love this kind of weather! Syndy only had 2 on which is bizarre considering hooligan new winds = brilliant conditions.
Had the windward end stitched up with the other fella - he had 3, I had 2 . . .both my fish were at first light but Ultralite didn't shift an inch and I slept like a baby from about midnight till dawn . . .always careful about bivvy placement in high winds - stay away from trees!
