I'm after a decent coated braid, one that I can use for booms mainly. I've used Korda N trap, fox and gardner ultra skin and no matter what I do I cannot get them to knit without breaking the coating either pulling the knot tight or after landing a fish. I'm currently using Fox Camosplice and threading fluorocarbon into the inner to make it stiff, it works but it's a bit of a pain to tie.. Any suggestions? Anyone used the Korda Kamo braid in higher breaking strains? As it's a boom diameter isn't too important Cheers H

I had thought about rigmarole Hydro link as that's basically what I'm making at present, but I'm unsure how it knots? Do you know it as is or remove the inner and then knot which would leave a softer hinge part

You just knot it as is then if you want a hinge you can fold it and tease a bit of the inner out then cut.
The extreme version is a lot stiffer as is has a 20lb flouro core vs 10lb on the standard, or the black hydrolink is a bit in between as the braid itself is stiffer (and stronger)

Have a look at the ESP Tungsten loaded x-stiff. I have been using it for booms on hinge stiff rigs and it works very well. Not had an issue with the coating yet

As above - ESP Tungsten stiff.... Also have a look at Nash Skinlink, its quite thick but its the only coated that ive used that i need a stripper tool to break the coating

I have been using the Nash Skinlink for the last few months and I find it to be the toughest coated braid I have used.I have run out of ESP two two tone( discontinued) and I tried the tungsten loaded stiff but didn't like it as much as the two tone so tried the Nash stuff.
It is relatively thick but hasn't been an issue for me.
It's a shame ESP discontinued the two tone stripteaze..the 25 lb was brilliant imo.
