Thinking of joining was wondering if anyone has any comments on is it a good water well run etc , looks a tidy set up with lots of nice looking carp just any info would be useful before parting with dollar also its 2 hours drive . Thanks in advance .

I'd certainly recommend you pop along to fish as a visitor for a session to give it a bash and see for yourself, I don't think you'll be disappointed. Day tickets are available onsite which allows you full access to fish the whole lake with 2 rods.

Its a very nice lake, worth a bash on a day ticket as Willows said... but the 12 month membership is a good buy too. I jumped in with a 12 month ticket after buying my Carp Society membership and asking nicely if I could have a walk around first.
Its a bit of a headbanger in winter though, heard of people putting in serious time for zero reward, apart from enjoying some fishing! I wouldn't call it an easy water in general at any time of year, moderately difficult is the best I can put it... certainly a challenge anyway.
It does get weedy but its dying off a bit now. Some of the favourite famous swims like winter point and such can be hard to get into, and sometimes if you can get in them it is because the fish aren't there in numbers. The fish tend to shoal up but they are very mobile, often find they have moved the other side of the lake.

Been on there a couple months now.
Very challenging, 60 odd acres, weedy, bird life can be a nightmare picking up your hook bait in 12ft of water!
When the wind picks up you constantly get wiped out by huge floating bits of weed!
Even finding a clear spot can be challenging!
I'm enjoying it though!

I fished it a fair bit a couple of years ago
I'm going to stick my head above the parapet and say I didn't think it was a difficult water in any way but maybe I'm used to much lower stocked lakes
Find them (you will see them show regularly) and they are not hard to catch at all.
Had plenty out of there in the time I fished it by keeping mobile. Nothing huge but enjoyable fishing

There ain't many lakes I miss but that is right up there stunning area for a bit of fishing
