Any users ? bought some as I couldn't get my usual Dark matter and first thing I noticed was the strong smell. I only had a single packet so couldn't compare it to any other tubing so may have been a one off but very surprised the tubing smelt so strongly.

Anyone notice this ?

I've used it. Never noticed any smell. Caught plenty

Never used the esp version but I have used alternatives and have detected a smell. I soaked mine in rainwater for a few days before use and smell disappeared. Certainly caught using it.

Used it a lot when unable to used leadcore etc never noticed a smell though... I have noticed it bleaching somewhat at times, patchy pale areas... whether it was sat over sour acidic lake bed that caused it I'm not sure. One of my waters is bad with crays and everyone steers clear of tubing as it gets mullered, most seem to use dark matter not esp so maybe the “smell” works in my favour!!

When it first came out, 20 odd years ago, Jim Gibbinson wrote that he had noticed carp being repelled by the smell of the anchor tubing! No disrespect to Jim ( legend) but there have been many thousand packs of the stuff sold since then!

Your right i bought some last year i instantly noticed a strong smell which wasn't there with other tubing, i dont know if it does have a negative effect but it does fade after being in water a while
