Completely depends on what type of bait you're using and how hard you hit the clip mate. Trail and error at a marker is the way.

Trial and error. Just be aware that imo they aren't particularly good for much more than about 80 yards or so, they are a bit nose heavy so don't fly so good, and you need to hit the clip fairly hard. You want a decent bit of height on it when you do hit the clip to get a good spread

I've found them pretty good on the whole. I agree with 80 ish yards is about the max. I tend to bring the rod back as it hits the clip and it opens fine and lands quietly throwing the bait forward. Type and size/weight of the bait needs consideration but a bit of practice you soon fathom that out.
Overall a good option for spread baiting with stuff other than whole boilles.

I'm not sure I've ever criticised a product before. I usually conclude it's simply not for me, rather than the product just being poor however I truly have had a very bad experience here. I would estimate I've made no more than 20 casts with these, and I've broken 3 of the things. All 3 were broken off at the central metal rod of the rocket, leaving me with effectively nothing.
After that I stopped even bothering. I think I've still got one unused... where it will stay. Very poor bit of kit in my opinion.
It's a shame really as I had a really specific application for these - a line of snags on my syndicate with water which you can't access behind. I was able to trickle floater behinds it and let the wind drift fish in front of accessible water. I just can't afford 30 quid a session on these things!

Not really mate. You'll get little clumps of bait here and there, nothing like what you can get with the AirBomb. This is great at spreading particle all over a spot.

That sounds really weird. Never had that happen to me. Maybe a dodgy batch? Lost a few of them due to that sh*ity Fox Spod and Marker braid...f**king stuff, like cotton.
Been showered loads of times with it when it just grazes a leaf or branch behind me on a cast. Covered in sloppy spomb juice just ain't the one.

I'm still on my original one and use it all the time I bought a spare one just in case but have never needed it.

I had one where that happened and was a known fault with an early batch. Contacted tfg and got a replacement sent out. Not used that yet (been sat in the cupboard for well over a year as not had the need for it)
