I recently bought some of the self fit line clip conversions from South coast reels for my daiwa tournament 5000t. My query is, once I have fitted the clip there seems to be lateral movement from where the clip is fitted. It's almost like the shaft that the spring sits on seems too thin. Just a bit concerned how this will be on impact

Has anyone got these and had the same result?

must say, i recently fitted one to a spod reel (emblem pro) and compared to the weston spools / clips i have on my main reels they are kinda pony.... cant fault the service - i messed it up, lost bits and they sorted / fitted it for me.... but the finished product isnt the best

I have the red ones on mine. 12 months use and no probs at all.

get the job done properly and send the spools to Garry at Custom Reels

It's very simple to remove the old clips and put these on. I was asking if the movement was normal. SCR have replied and said there is 1mm movement due to the profile of the hole for the original clip.

This doesn't affect the clip on impact which was my main worry

Mine are the same, I think it's just how they are. Mine have been on for a year or two now and no problems so far, if that's any consolation?

It's normal mate, don't worry about it. You need clearance for them to perform properly.
